Where does
Reiki energy come from?
To understand where the Reiki energy comes
from we will have to begin with looking at the word Reiki itself. Reiki is
pronounced as ‘Ray’ ‘key’. ‘Rei’ means ‘God’s power’ and ‘kei’ means ‘life
energy’. When we combine the two we can better explain it as ‘spiritually
guided life force energy’.
Reiki can be
considered to be spiritual in nature, but it is in no way religious. An
individual can consider the Reiki energy to be coming from whatever the
highest source of life one believes in.
How does Reiki
work?
All living beings have a constant flow of
energy in and around the body. The energy is called as ‘Prana’ or ‘Chi’.
It travels through the main energy center in the body called ‘Chakras’. It
flows around the body in a field called ‘Aura’. Any disruption or blockage
in the flow of energy results in illness. When Reiki is given to a client,
the power of this energy flows through the affected parts of the body. It
then fills them with positive energy.
How is the
Reiki treatment given?
This healing method involves the laying on
hands treatment. The practitioner just starts with the intent of Reiki
flowing through the hand. The hands are placed on all the main charkas of
the body starting from the head which is the ‘Crown Chakra’.
The client is made to
lie on the massage table fully clothed. The client needs to relax while
taking Reiki. The session needs to be taken with a positive mind, and open
to accept Reiki energy.
What does a
treatment feel like?
During the treatment, the client needs to be
fully relaxed. More open minded and accepting the client is during the
treatment, the power of Reiki energy increases. Every individual feels
differently during the session. Some may feel extreme heat, cold,
vibration, pressure etc. Therefore there is no one way to express the
feelings during the session.
What can be
treated with Reiki?
Reiki is known to help in curing all
illnesses. It is a complimentary method of treatment and goes well with
any treatment the client may be undertaking.
